Auckland Memorial Park is owned by a trust and managed by Auckland Memorial Park Ltd.
The trust owns the freehold of the land, which can never be mortgaged and is thus secure forever. The company oversees day-to-day operations, record keeping and maintenance.
A proportion of all sales is allocated to the Park's Perpetual Maintenance Fund. Many Auckland cemeteries have no such fund to prevent them from falling into disrepair. At Auckland Memorial Park ongoing upkeep is assured forever by the Perpetual Maintenance Fund.
